Congratulations to new mother of 4! It will be an joyful Mother’s Day for a Maryland woman who delivered 4 babies on January 29th, her 32nd birthday. Tomorrow she will introduce her boys, Joshua Drew, Gavin Michael, Cody Benjamin and Logan Christopher, to the world at press conference. Her boys are one of less than 100 documented cases of what is called, “triplets plus one.” in history She has 3 identical infants from an implanted embryo that split twice and an additional son from the other implanted embryo. The boys are said to be doing well and have been home for about 2 1/2 weeks. Wow – what an awesome miracle of mothering.

Did you know that one woman dies in pregnancy or childbirth every minute? That’s over half a million women each year. Many of these women have no skilled help at the time of childbirth, and die alone. 99% of these deaths occur in developing countries, and most times could be prevented by access to information and low cost interventions.

We’ve announced the winner of our 2007 Mother of the Year Award.

Thanks to all those who entered, and to our esteemed panal of judges for helping to select the final winner!

Mother’s Day Central is really excited to announce the 2007 Mother of the Year Award.

We are looking for submissions about why YOUR mother is the greatest – and the top Mom (as judged by our esteemed group of panelists listed below) will get $5,000 cash. 10 other mothers will get a lovely bouquet of flowers as well. We’re really excited to be able to honor mothers in such a wonderful way. You can help by spreading the word, and submitting a quick story about your own mom – and why she is so great (maybe you should send it to her, and let her know you sent it too). More of the details are listed on the homepage, and below.

Prizes

The grand prize winner will receive $5,000 cash that can be used to…

• take mom on the dream vacation she always wanted
• help her pay off her car or mortgage
• donate to charity of her choice
• do whatever she likes with

In addition the winner will receive

• a bouquet of Mother’s Day flowers
• any Mother’s Day gift of your choice up to $200
• a Flip digital camera so you can record the announcement that they won

The top 10 finalists will each receive a bouquet of Mother’s Day flowers.
